Clerks
Okay, so this past week I went and saw Clerks II. It was my first Kevin Smith movie and I have to admit, it was pretty funny. Clerks II brings us 10 yrs ahead of Clerks 1 and shows us that not a lot has changed in the lives of Randle and Dante. Their beloved Quick Stop is gone... but they are still Clerks over at the local Mooby's. This is Dante's last day (no it wasn't his day off) as he is about to move to Florida and marry a wealth, beautiful young woman. By the time this day is over, there will be plenty of twists in the story, LOTR jokes, and a scene with a donkey. Believe me, this is not a movie you want to miss.
Having watched this, I had to check out some of Kevin Smith's other works including the original Clerks and Dogma. The original Clerks was great, but having already saw the second movie, I have to admit that it was way funnier. Best quote from the first one, "You get me slapped with a fine, you argue with the customers and I have to patch everything up, you get us thrown out of a funeral by violating the corpse, and then to top it off, you ruin my relationship. I mean, what's your encore? Do you, like, anally rape my mother while pouring sugar in my gas tank?".
Dogma was also spectacular. I don't know why, but I kept rewinding at the part where Ben Affleck's head exploded. Oh well... enough said there, eh?
Anyhow, go watch them! Now!
