Force can only be overcome by equal or greater force. I am in favor of greater force in my hand or my loved ones hands if they must deal with evil people. Of course that means I safely use and train with my firearm, and I train my family in the safe use of firearms. Everyone I know that own firearms uses them safely and teaches their families how to use them safely. However, it is the law abiding citizen that is the focus of gun control laws. Gun Regulations on law abiding citizens has only one end and that is controlling the citizen. History has proven that fact. Guns for the righteous and a can of kick ass for the evil. People should be able to defend themselves with reasonable force if needed, and I use the common-sense definition of "reasonable force" not the american-left definition. Do I think you are justified using a small nuclear device as "self defense" and using "I might get robbed" as an excuse to own a flamethrower? No (though flamethrowers ARE awesome!).
