Recent Tragedies

Now I am sure all of you have heard of the many recent tragedies that have taken place in this country over the past month or so. You cannot blame the arms for what happened. They didn’t pull their own trigger. They didn’t grow legs and walk into the clinic. Hell the Clinic was a “gun free” zone! I have to ask a question, if more law abiding citizens owned and carried guns, could someone have maybe stopped these maniacs sooner? Here is a good quote for you from the FBI, “Crime in the United States” in 1998:
Washington D.C. has essentially banned gun ownership since 1976 and has a murder rate of 56.9 per 100,000. Across the river in Arlington, Virginia, gun ownership is less restricted. There, the murder rate is just 1.6 per 100,000, less than three percent of the Washington, D.C. rate.
It’s common sense to think that maybe, just maybe, some of those people who died, didn’t need to if they had the ability to defend themselves. Let me introduce you to Lance Thomas. A simple watch maker out of Los Angeles. He saw other businesses getting robbed and the owners murdered! What did he do? He bought a gun, practiced, trained, and well… Let me let Lance explain for himself.
This guy is someone who shows the courage that I hope I can show in the face of such strong opposition. There are many things about his situation that anger me! It’s very hard to get a concealed weapons permit in LA. He is one of only three people in LA who were not police and was given a permit, but only after all this. Am I the only one outraged by this? For the sake of our country and all of us… I pray I am not the only one.

Eeesh .. I think after the fourth robbery, I’d move shop. Kudos to him for effective self defense.
It takes a lot more then red-tape to get a concealed weapon permit to get me outraged. The ‘concealed’ part to me is the most trivial detail, and frankly isnt important in the grand scheme.
I get -outraged- at things like losing Habeas Corpus, Losing unemployment benefits because rich people don’t like taxes, Being forced to submit to a religion before I can get govt-sponsored assistance, quartering soldiers in citizens homes during peacetime, and banned book lists.
I get -mildly annoyed- at red tape, which actually denies nothing and is simply an inconvenience.
