Vanderboegh Interview

If you haven’t already read about Mike Vanderboegh, I invite you to read these two interviews as posted on The war on guns. You can read part one here and part two here. Go ahead… read those articles. I’ll wait, but please come back because I have more to discuss below.
I found David Codrea’s blog a while back and what shocked to find many of the fears and feelings I have been having where shared by others. I was beginning to think I was a minority. I see a civil war coming. We have two completely apposing philosophies in this country that are too incompatible to co-exist. Understand, I am not advocating it. I am not relishing it, but with the introduction of HCR-6 here in NH as reported on No Looking Backwards it has come to my attention that numerous other states are now pushing these types of bills through. HCR-6 is a re-affirmation of our state’s rights and could almost be described as a line drawn in the sand. It described the ramifications for the rapid over reach of Federal power into our state, and outlines the consequences right up to succession. Again, this is not something I would cherish, but it has to be on the table.
How many rights and freedoms will you give up for security? It’s been tried in Australia and England. You now have people begging for their freedoms back. They were promised more security if they gave up their firearms. Now you have burglars suing the people their breaking into. Don’t think we can get that ludicrous? Just look south of NH into MA. Do you honestly think the second amendment will be the only one “changed”? Don’t keep your hopes up. The first will probably be next.
… and people still do not see it coming. It’s amazing when I read interviews with people who, yes are in the Obama camp and it’s clear they are horribly ill-informed. I invite you to check out this vid from over at How Obama got elected. That is what happens when you rely on Fox News or the major media outlets for your only source of news. It’s a sad state of affairs when a large group of ill-informed voters cancel out numerous well informed voters.
Do not get me wrong. I cringed inside when voting for McCain. I feel betrayed that he voted for this “Economic Stimulus Bill”, but that is a topic for another article.
I ask everyone who reads this to heed this message. Do not get comfortable and do not think you are informed by looking at just one or two “news” outlets. Talk to people, read, investigate, and inform yourself about the issues. Make an informed decision before stepping into that voting booth and just filling in the holes. This year, I took notes on each candidate and took it into the voting booth with me. Not all of them won, but I at least feel that I’ve done my part, and done my best.
